GO! BORDERLESS for a culture without borders.
In 2025, Nova Gorica and Gorizia will together represent the European Capital of Culture GO! 2025 with the inspiring slogan 'GO! BORDERLESS". This ambitious project unites past and future in a borderless cultural strategy, which aims to improve the quality of life for all citizens of the border area. The shared commitment of the two cities, once separated by conflict, but now united by friendship and intense cooperation, aims to transform them into a cross-border European Capital of Culture.
The long road to this prestigious title involved an open and lively dialogue, overcoming administrative barriers thanks to the coordination of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC GO). he awarding of the European Capital of Culture has strengthened the common future of Gorizia and Nova Gorica, reaffirming their role as places where European culture finds a home and will continue to flourish.
For a whole year, Nova Gorica and Gorizia will develop and implement an innovative programme of artistic events to celebrate the richness of European cultural diversity, shared history and common heritage. This extraordinary opportunity will bring benefits that will last well beyond 2025, regenerating the cultural, economic, urban and social fabric of the two cities.
